Joystick procedures
With both engines running and in neutral you can turn on the joystick control on by pressing the button on the port side of the joystick The blue light will come on and your electronic monitor will tell you it is engaged
Now you are controlling both engines with the joystick and the motors will adjust to however you move the stick. The steering wheel is locked all the time the joystick is engaged. The nice feature of the joystick is that it is spring loaded and when you let go the motors very quickly return to neutral. This makes it easy to touch in touch out. Practice Practice Practice
To return to normal controls simply press the same button on the joystick or push a shift lever into forward or reverse and the joystick is automatically disengaged.
Once you have taken control with the shift levers and you want to control both motors with a single shift lever, simply press the single control switch and it disengages the starboard shift lever and the Port lever controls both engines.
When approaching the Island the motors will both need to be trimmed up as the water level is low this year. Simply press the trim switch on the Port shift lever and trim both engines up. To lower press the down button once clear of the Island
