The Southampton Marine Heritage Society invites you on a journey to Chantry Island aboard the Peerless II Tour Boat. 2021 will be our 20th year offering Historical Tours.
The Marine Heritage Society and Propellor Club volunteers are partnering with the Town on a restoration project for the Saugeen River Front Range Light. High water levels and waves have done significant damage to this historical Icon. The estimated cost to restore the Range Light will be between $75,000 and $100,000. In 2021 we hope to organize some unique events as COVID -19 allows. The Southampton Rotary Club has kicking off the fund with $14,500 raised from their event “Jazz for the Light” held in November 2020. The Southampton Yacht Club has pledged $5,000 over the next two years. The Marine Heritage Society is accepting donations of any amount and will issue a tax receipt for all donations of $20.00 or more. Mail your cheque to Marine Heritage Society 86 Saugeen St, Southampton, ON N0H 2L0 or email us for more information to chantryisland@bmts.com. 🙂
